The FIDE rated County Down Junior Championships were held at Bangor Chess Club on Saturday 11 October 2025. It was 10 rounds of 10+5 and players travelled from all over Ireland. To keep everyone involved, a separate adult section was also held in the playing hall and this was free for chess parents, grandparents, uncles and older siblings. 58 chess players took part. Chief Arbiter: Brendan Jamison, Deputy Arbiter: Paul O’Connor.
